Arctic survival mode is a fair description of what it felt like keeping the farm running during the hardest winter of our lives. Stories from Ernest Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition kept coming to mind during chores on days like those, but being snowed in also gave us more chances to experiment with blending new roasts. And from deep in the ice pack, a favorite emerged: Winter Lift Basecamp Blend.

In the cup, Winter Lift is both a toasty treat and a cheerful glimmer of spring to come. The Ethiopia reminds us that warmer weather is around the corner, with juicy tropical fruit notes like watermelon, kiwi, and green apple, plus a light floral lift. The Colombia supplies the classic coffee richness, adding caramel sweetness, milk chocolate, and a smooth body that makes the whole thing feel comforting and full. The result is sweet and cozy up front, with a bright fruity sparkle in the background.

Somewhere between the ice, the wind, and chipping the pasture watering hole open for a third time the same day, it helped to know Winter Lift was waiting back at basecamp (a morale boost in a cup). Shackleton did not have that advantage. We do, and we are happily making the most of it!
